Our training consists of a full 3-year Apprenticeship Program that starts at 70% of Journey Marine scale. Apprentices work a normal work week and train in the evenings with a standard 3-hour class period ,two times a week, for a minimum of 144 hours annually. At successful completion of the program, the Apprentice will be designated by the State of Washington as a Marine Journey Person.
There is also other Marine training provided by our Joint Apprentice Training Committee fund and the signatory Employers. For a Marine Member seeking further education in their trade that is not an Apprentice, the Marine JATC can be applied to for payment of training if classes are successfully completed.
Wage and Fringe Benefits vary from Bargaining Agreement to Bargaining Agreement and are not listed because of the wide range of variations.
Initiation for a Marine Electrician is $50.00.
