Sisters and Brothers,
This is a reminder of our Unit meetings tomorrow night. Come down and grab a burger or a ‘dog, and get an update on what’s happening while you’re here.
As a reminder, Local 46 is celebrating the 4th of July this Friday. Our offices in Kent and Silverdale will be closed. Have a safe 4th of July weekend.
This is an update for the Inside, Stockman, Residential and Light Fixture Maintenance Units:
*Our next negotiating session for the Inside Unit is scheduled for next Tuesday, July 7. This is the first opportunity when everyone is available to meet. We are very close to bringing back an offer that can be recommended, but we are not there yet.
In an earlier Robo-Call, I had talked about the Seattle Sick Leave Ordinance. Local 46 has notified the City of Seattle that we have terminated the Inside Agreement and believe some of our Inside members will be eligible for paid sick leave in the next couple of weeks, depending on the size of the contractor and the number of hours you are working inside Seattle City limits. This could also go the other way and that is for us to reach an agreement prior to you accumulating a sick leave day.
*For the Stockman, Residential and Light Fixture Maintenance Units: we have asked to meet to negotiate your contracts too. As soon as we have a date scheduled we will let you know.
All Units are asked to continue manning your work each day and remember to continue giving eight hours of work for eight hours of pay.
Jim Tosh, Business Manager
