Union Member Dallas DeLay submitted this photo of Governor Chris Gregoire with his Guide Dog puppy-in-training, Willy.

Willy loved the Governor and did not want to get off her lap and Governor Gregoire was not even upset with the black fur on her yellow jacket.

Now that’s the side we never see of our elected officials!

Dogs do know best!

History Project

History Project Slide Show

IBEW Local 46 has a History Project. So what is the History Project all about? It is about documenting the events of IBEW Local 46 and its members over the past 90+ years.

In the year 2014, Local 46 will be celebrating its 100th Anniversary. As part of this celebration we plan to present clips of Local 46’s History as told by its members. So far we have interviewed over 100 current and retired members.

The hope is to get as many members interviewed as we can before our 100th anniversary. Even though the IBEW Local 46 History Project began primarily as a presentation for the upcoming Centennial it is really much more than that. It is the lifetime story of IBEW Local 46. A story that is being documented, recorded, and preserved so it can be passed on to future generations.

Labor History

Ever wonder what it took to get where we are today?

They don't teach this stuff in school anymore; and what is taught is slanted. Look back into the history of the labor movement and read about the sacrifices our forefathers, foremothers, brothers and sisters made to fight for the workers' rights, better wages and working conditions many of us take for granted today.

Remember that the rights and conditions we won in the past can and have been taken away.
